Beautiful Manaslu Trek lies in Manaslu Region. The eight highest mountain peak in the world i.e. Mount Manaslu lies in this region. The height of the mountain is 8163m. The famous trek Manaslu Trek is named after this might mountain. This trekking offers trekkers to explore the glorious view of Mount Manaslu. This region contains various flora and fauna and most diverse cultural spectrum influenced from Tibet mixed with typical Nepalese culture and tradition. Therefore, the area is one of the best trekking destinations of Nepal.
Manaslu trekking is fascinating trekking since we climb to the foot of the northern side of Manaslu Mountain. The stunning panorama view of mountains will certainly be welcoming every trekker in that trail. Along with magnificent views of the eight tallest mountains in the world we get marvelous opportunity to witness the local culture and tradition and biological diversity of that region. The most dramatic pass crossing the Himalayas is the ‘Larkya La Pass’ which is the highest point in this trek. Like other trekking trails this one is also the challenging one since the trekking at altitudes above 3000m/10,000ft is more demanding on the body than walking at low altitudes and elevations. This region is occupied by Manaslu Conservation Area as well where we can get the chance to see blue sheep. Anyone who is fit can do Manaslu Trek and it is getting much easier year by year with the facilities available in that region. This trek is not so long and extreme one. About 3 to 4 villages of this region offer internet access as well. Food and Lodge in this region is surprisingly good and reasonable price as well. Proper electricity facilities with free of cost helps trekkers to recharge their batteries while staying in lodge.
Manaslu trek will be completed within 14 days. The trek starts from Arughat which is at the altitude of 550m. It lies in Gorkha district and will take 8-9 hours via local or private vehicle travelling via the Prithvi Highway. The actual trekking starts from there and the next destination would be Soti Khola at 730m, which is approximately 5-6 hours trek route for trekkers. Passing by Gurun villages at Shanti Bazzar we will have glanced of Shringi Himal. We will be crossing the suspension bridge of Soti Khola to reach village famous for Honey Hunters. The trek climbs up following Budhi Gandaki to reach Khorsaani. The trail is precarious since we meet lots of big rocks and streams on the way. Finally, ups and downs of several hours we will reach Gurung Village of Labu Besi. Moving onwards trail gradually uphill to Jagat via Doban. It is at altitude of 1804m and will take around 6-7 hours to reach there.
Following the river bank again for the first hour will take up to Ghata Khola. The next spot would be Philim which is the home to the Manaslu Conservation Area and the large settlements on the route. From there Mt. Lapuchun is so clear and trekkers can get chance close view. Next the trail takes to Dang through the forested area and narrow valley. We will be accompanied by Budhi Gandaki until we cross to reach Rana and finally descending to Ghap.Samagaon is the classic Lama settlements in this region. It has monasteries and all the things are totally Tibetan. Punggyen Gompa is the famous spt and need to have optional hike to reach there. Dharmashala at the altitude of 4460mm is the next destination. After a day of acclimatization at Dharmashala trek to Bhimtang at the altitude of 3890m begins.
Trekkers will be rewarded with brilliant views of Himlung, Kangurru, Annapura II and Manaslu. The next destination would be Tilje which is famous for brandy has Gurung Settlement. Tilke to Tal would take around 5-6 hours and finally to village of Syange. The downstream trail then leads to Besishar through villages, forests and mountains views. This indicates the completion of Trek and then drive back to Kathmandu from Besisahar.
